Arun Mohan Sukumar

Author, lawyer, and cyber security expert

Arun Mohan Sukumar is a PhD candidate at The Fletcher School, Tufts University. He is the author of Midnight's Machines: A Political History of Technology in India, published in November 2019 by Penguin Random House. Arun is a lawyer by training, and graduated from NALSAR, Hyderabad. He headed the Technology Initiative of the Observer Research Foundation, India's biggest think-tank, between 2015 and 2019. Arun was a member of the multi-stakeholder group set up by India's National Security Advisor in 2017 on 'cyber norms', or rules of conduct for states and businesses in cyberspace. He has been a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on the Digital Economy and Society (2016-2019).
