D.N. ‘Bonny’ Mukerjea started his career in Businessworld as a reporter in 1991. He had a ringside view of how India Inc. changed post Liberalisation, and he wrote and commented on some of the biggest events and issues of the day. He considers that period to be foundational as it taught him from close how Indian businesses function.
Later he was the architect of ABP's partnership with Time Inc. and launched the Indian edition of Fortune as its Founding Editor. Subsequently, as President, ABP Digital, he built and ran the digital business of ABP across multiple brands such as Anandbazar Patrika, The Telegraph, Ebela, etc. Thereafter he was associated with the $4 billion RPSG Group, where he joined as Chief Executive, Digital Business.
Of late he is contemplating his own entrepreneurial journey. He also sits on the advisory board of some technology enabled start-ups. Much of his interest these days centres on how new business models are disrupting the old ones and the threats and opportunities that are emerging because of that.
